Much more than just a podcast or interview series, Mark Lang ‘Out to Sea' is an online film series and filmed podcast created by Australian singer/songwriter and filmmaker Mark Lang, this series is set in his home town of Queenscliffe and Point Lonsdale in Regional Victoria.

The series explores creative practice, place, songwriting, storytelling, touring and the business of making a sustainable lifelong career in the arts. Episode two features the incredible Clare Bowditch, an ARIA award winning singer-songwriter, radio host & author among many other things.

Clare has had a deep impact on the cultural landscape of this country not only as an acclaimed artist in her own right, but also her work in championing artists' voices. This conversation is filled with Clare's deep warmth, wonderful stories, and insights from one of Australia's finest artists.

Meet my friend Elaine, the chicken whisperer. You can find her at the Point Lonsdale front beach every Tuesday morning at 8am with her glorious chooks. Scratch the surface and everyone's got a story to tell and her's is truly incredible - you will absolutely love her.

Woven throughout the 'Out To Sea' artist in conversation series will be these short vignette pieces that feature the everyday life and stories of our small Australian coastal village.

Biography

Australian singer/songwriter and film maker Mark Lang is a renowned lyricist and storyteller. He has written three critically acclaimed albums making many ‘album of the year’ lists as the singer/ songwriter of Australian indie band Skipping Girl Vinegar.

Mark released his debut solo work in 2019 with an extensive North American and European tour including appearances at the legendary Cambridge Folk Festival UK. Mark was invited by legendary Canadian songwriter Ron Sexsmith on tour before launching his debut solo work to a sold out Melbourne Recital Centre & Australian tour. Thrilling audiences from main stages of premiere festivals including Byron Bay Bluesfest, Cambridge Folk Festival, Port Fairy, Splendour In The Grass, Woodford, Falls Festival and many more.

Mark's work has received extensive airplay on Triple J, ABC, Double J, Community radio, as well as US college radio (7 weeks Top 700 CMJ charts, 46 top 70s & numerous #7 & #2 positions across the US. His film work has received featured airplay on CBC TV in Canada and Al Jazeera in the US and film festivals.
